Update: Private Vineyard Estates Land Development

We’ve come a long way since our last update on the Private Vineyard Estates land development! Back in May, The Vines had just finished installing the first 125 posts for the trellising system and begun drilling a well on the Uco Valley property. Today, we are proud to report that we have 13,000 posts in the ground and a 125m well that is producing even better quality water than anticipated.

"The water has low salinity, and we are able to pump 300,000 liters/hour, which is way more than the 200,000-250,000 liters/hour we expected. We basically have a sea below the property.” says Fran, our resident agronomist.

chorro agua.jpgWhile the land development progresses, we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our first set of plants from the world’s largest nursery in Italy. The plants, scheduled for shipment July 23, will include the varietals Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Marssanne, Merlot, Petit Merlot, Roussanne, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Tempranillo and Viognier. The Malbec and Torrontes varietals will be home grown here in Argentina. Planting begins in September and will last through the end of October this year. Then it will be only a matter of time (about 2.5 years, to be exact) before we’ll begin producing high quality wine to the unique tastes of our Private Vineyard Estate owners. The next few months will involve completing the installation of the trellising, irrigation systems and vines. We are also actively engaged in discussions with resort partners who we think will be as excited as we are about the rapid development of the property.

Only a handful of Private Vineyard Estates remain, and with the development of the property now running at full speed, they are sure to be snatched up quickly.
