Sin Fin Winery launched into the market his new wine SIN FIN GRAN GUARDA MALBEC 2007 at the Sheraton Hotel. The wine was presented by their International Wine Adviser Isabel Mijares, who talked about the wines and the thousand-year-old tradition of wine and food harmony.
We definitely had a delightful evening with a perfect alliance of wine and food, and a great atmosphere shaped by an important number of renewed winemakers and journalists who attended the event. Ambiance framed by a stunning view of Mendoza city at night from the hotel’s 17th floor.
The first wine, SIN FIN SAUVIGNON BLANC 2008, was paired with a terrine of mushrooms portobellos on mix of green leaves. Isabel described this wine as a very easy and crisp wine. I completely agree, it has a very clean, citric nose being highlighted the lime and grapefruit. The pairing was superb!
The star wine of the night was SIN FIN GRAN GUARDA MALBEC 2007. It was paired with the classic Argentinean beef with sauté vegetables on a malbec sauce. Wine of a great varietal expression. The vineyards come from Perdriel. It was aged 12 months in new French and American Oak. In color it is deep ruby red. Intense nose with complex fruit, spice, chocolate and tobacco. Fleshy, juicy and with young but noble tannins. Long and velvety finish.
Price: AR$70 – personally I think it is a great value wine.
