One of the most fun aspects of the holidays is food and wine pairing, and one of the holidays where we all especially love to tackle this challenge is Thanksgiving. Each cook has his or her own routine, recipe and approach that all help make the table perfect for the occasion, and the wine chosen plays no small part.
The traditional turkey pairing has always been Pinot Noir. Argentine wines have been often overlooked as a contender here, but we believe that even an all-Argentine home wine list can liven up any Thanksgiving table and pair well with the turkey and the numerous other sides and desserts.
Here are our carefully chosen wines for your table - categorized by style as we do in our Siete Fuegos restaurant.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Our Five Picks:
Dry, Light & Fruity
Few wines can match these fizzy beauties when it comes to easy-pleasing refreshment.
Gimenez Riili Winery – Perpetuum Extra Brut - Chardonnay, Chenin and Pinot Noir
The Gimenez Riili family has been in the wine industry since the end of the 19th century. This sparkling, which represents the family’s celebratory spirit, is produced using the Charmat method, and was aged for four months on its lees. Fruity on the nose, it reminds of peaches, apricots and toast. It is an easy-to-drink sparkling with a fresh aftertaste, which makes it ideal for thanksgiving celebration – particularly with turkey paté on top of brioche bread and a hint of rosemary.

Caelum Winery – Rosé - Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon - 2011
Giuseppe Franceschini, an Italian winemaker, stands out due to the great acidity in his wines. This light colored rosé is the result of his hard work plus with Lujan de Cuyo Terroir. Citric and subtle on the nose, this reminds of grapefruit, lemon and lemongrass. On the palate light bodied, refreshing with a sharp acidity. Let’s welcome thanksgiving festivity with a turkey breast with a bittersweet citric reduction served with an arugula, mozzarella and grapefruit salad.
