Amanda Barnes picks four fresh - and unique - wines to accompany you through your spring time in Mendoza!

As the weather is warming, the blossoms are blooming in Mendoza and there’s a euphoric feeling in the air. If the bug hasn’t caught you yet, here are five wines to put that 'spring' back in your step!

Colomé Torrontés

The air is already fragrant with the aroma of Jasmine here and to capture a bit of that at home, you can uncork this exotically-perfumed Torrontés. Made by Bodega Colomé in Cafayate, this wine comes from the tippy top of Argentine high altitude vineyards - at over 1,700m. A bouquet filled with Jasmine, Roses, grapefruit and honey, this variety could well be spring defined!

Blanc De Malbec -724595b 47df 5fc 273c 3144857dbbbe 68-320-0Vicentin, Blanc de Malbec

If you can’t give up Malbec but still want a springtime white wine, then try this anomaly. A white wine made from (red) Malbec grapes, this will score you points at any feast for being the most surprising wine on the table. With peach, cinnamon and Lilly notes it has a round and smooth mouth with interesting tannins making it a gastronomy wine. Pop this on the table at lunch time and you’ll brighten up anyone’s day!

Passionate Wine, Ineditos Bonarda Pura

This is perhaps the closest you’ll get to a Beaujolais in Argentina. Winemaker Matias Michelini doesn’t like to play by the same rules as anyone else and his carbonic maceration Bonarda is proof that rebellion tastes good! Tons of red fruit and fresh on the finish, this is a perfect spring tipple that should be served well chilled.

Alta -vista -atemporal -extra -brut -rose -espumante -champagne -13626-MLA38693808_4088-O

Alta Vista Atemporal, Sparkling Rosé
This pretty-in-pink sparkler comes from French-owned winery Alta Vista in Lujan de Cuyo. Made in the traditional Champenoise method, this might look girly from the outside but with 13 months on the lees and 90% Pinot Noir in its composition this sparkling wine has great structure and complexity - perfect for pairing with food. The owner’s family has also owned Champagne house Piper-Heidsieck since the 13th century, so they know a thing or two about bubbles.
