This past Friday, the winners of the Argentina Wine Awards 2017 were announced, the most influential contest of Argentinian wine of Latin America. After the thorough tasting blinds performed by 12 international judges and 7 national judges, only 47 wines obtained 95 points or Gold-Medal.
Recuerdo Gran Corte 2013 is a blend composed of 60% Malbec, 20% Cabernet Franc, 15% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot. The grapes all come from Chacayes, one of the most valuable micro regions of Valle del Uco, where The Vines of Mendoza is located. The entire cut spent 22 months per barrel and there was a limited set of 3000 bottles of this crop.
Pablo Martorell, Head Winemaker, shared that the "great balance and harmony of this wine is a reflection of the vineyard and team that produced it. Personally is one of the wines that has given me the most satisfaction. Besides the Recuerdo line, The Vines of Mendoza winery produces more than 300 fermentations per year for the different owners, and in this context is a pride and a great motivation to receive this award.”
